Grooming
When someone builds a child’s trust to manipulate, isolate or exploit them. They may appear to be a friend, teammate or helpful adult.

01 / Recognize
What it looks like
- Intense attention, gifts or free game currency
- “Don’t tell your parents” or “they won’t understand”
- Pressure to move a game chat into private DMs
- Personal questions or requests for private photos
You may notice: Unfamiliar online friends, sudden secrecy, mood changes or talk of “loyalty” and “tasks.”

How to help
Ask with curiosity. Find out who they talk to and how they met. Make it safe to tell you about uncomfortable requests.
Review together. Check accounts, friends and message settings. Keep usernames, links and non-explicit messages.
Act on pressure. Sexual requests, threats or coercion need help today. Don’t ask the child to keep talking to the person.
